Davies Zambotti – Erano Questi Gli Altri Mondi

Tramite l’acqua, elemento dominante, possiamo osservare mondi nuovi, diversi, sempre esistiti e mai considerati.

I miei progetti nascono in molteplici modi.

Hi Davies, tell us a bit about yourself and how youn approached photography.
Photography has always been part of my life. I came from an artistic path, starting with the high school, passing through the Academy of Fine Arts and ending with Direction and Audio Video Production. In the meantime I have developed and expanded passions such as music and theater. Throughout my career photography has always been a constant and has created the glue between the various artistic disciplines, helping me to overcome and elaborate particular moments of my life. The image reflects the part of us that we can’t see.

How was the project born ” WERE THESE OTHER WORLDS”?
They were These Other Worlds is an extremely delicate, fragile project, sometimes impalpable. Through water, the dominant element, we can observe new, different worlds, always existing and never considered. Through the deconstruction of the body of water we investigate within our thoughts, getting lost in worlds, never ours, of which we have always felt the presence. This is a work of internal dialogue, of travel and of revelation. What we are looking for has always been with us.

“Tactile landscape, worlds that do not belong to us are reflected and refracted. Flexible projections of deep consciences. To rise again in an unceasing ripple To open up to the tomorrow of the new”.

Where do you get inspiration for your work?
The inspiration for my works starts from the need to discover, discovering myself too and investigate the gaps of the human soul. Masters like Lynch, Bergman, Antonioni, Ibsen, made me feel “at home” embracing myself in a common imagination.

How do you find your stories?
My projects are born in many ways. From the simple interstices I investigate in life, to books, movies, songs and dialogues that surround me every day. In most cases my works start from the thought that turns into writing, then into image, until I return to thought.

What is the first thing you do when you decide to develop a project?
The spark of a project comes from internal reflections that are transformed into writing, in the form of poems, texts or scripts. And then you make an image and, as the case may be, you evolve into music, video art, or all of those things at the same time. I like to feel the project move and move in all the forms that compose it. Everything is always. Everything is becoming.
